Introduction

Calamar is a block explorer for Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems. Data are provided by Subsquid.

The app is available here: https://calamar.app

Calamar is open-source. Its source code is maintained here: https://github.com/topmonks/calamar

The name Calamar is used to align with the Subsquid brand identity.

The idea for another explorer has emerged during the dotsama events in Amsterdam and Prague. The team of TopMonks company's Blockchain Studio has gathered feedback from friendly projects such as HydraDx and KodaDot among others. We have applied for and won the bounty from Subsquid in the Polkadot Hackaton: North America edition, that requested developing a block explorer. Our submission: https://devpost.com/software/calamar.

While developing Calamar, we focus on UI and UX friendliness so that users enjoy exploring, as well as relevance of displayed data.

What can you do with Calamar?

Calamar allows you to search for various entities such as blocks, extrinsics, events and accounts. The other option is to navigate directly to the dashboard of individual networks where you can find its stats, list of blocks, latest extrinsics, transfers etc.
